Ensure your news media hotel distribution or employee purchased programs generate business traveler paid circulation.

Business Traveler: Group Subscriptions

Applicable Rule: C 1.1/C 101.1 Paid Circulation and C 3.3/C 103.3 Business/Traveler Copies

Two or more copies/subscriptions purchased by a business for designated employees are eligible as paid business/traveler - group circulation if the following requirements are met:

• The employer orders the subscriptions or single copies.
• The employer pays at least one cent, net of considerations per subscription or single issue.
• The names or titles of each designated recipient are maintained and made available to AAM upon request. The copies may be for employees based from headquarters, subsidiaries or branches of the company.

Business Traveler: Hotel Distribution

Applicable Rule: C 1.1/C 101.1 Paid Circulation and C 3.3/C 103.3 Business/Traveler Copies

Hotel Guest Refund

Copies paid for by hotel guests as part of their room cost are eligible as paid business/traveler - hotel distribution - guest refund if the following requirements are met:

• The newspaper is delivered to the guest’s room.
• The newspaper is the current day’s issue.
• At registration, the guest is informed a newspaper is included with the room charge and may be declined for a refund or credit (i.e., The notice can occur on either the registration form, key cardholder or a sticker affixed to the top of each day's newspaper.).
• The notice that provides an option for the guest to decline the newspaper states the value and offers a refund of the stated value if the newspaper is declined.
• The refund instructions are clear and simple.
• The refund amount is at least one cent, net of all considerations.
• Copies declined and refunded are considered unsold copies and excluded from paid circulation.

Hotel Room/Lobby Copies

Copies paid for by hotels and distributed onsite are eligible as paid business/traveler - hotel distribution - room/lobby copies if the following requirements are met:

• The hotel orders and pays a qualifying price for the copies.
• All copies are available for pick up by guests either in common areas or in guest rooms.
• The newspaper is the current day’s issue.
• The number of copies does not exceed the number of occupied rooms.
• The hotel is invoiced for the copies on a regular billing cycle.
